250 School bags
Successful collections have been taking place across Titsey and Oxted over the past few months, with Titsey Rotary Club and its members running collection points across the county.
On Wednesday the 22nd of July, Mia collected 250 Bags from Rotarian Suzi, who had stored these in her garden.
The sheer volume was shocking and greatly validating to see the amount of bags that were so close to ending up in landfill redirected for children in Kenya.
Out of the 250 bags sorted through, only 2 were discarded due to broken zips. This is an incredible ratio and reminder to double-check any zips when donating your school bags.
This milestone marks a great moment for our second-hand school bag collection. To donate more, please visit the collection points listed, the Repair, Reuse, Recycle event at The Woodhouse Centre in Oxted on Sunday the 26th of July or visit Oxted Morrisons.
Once again, a huge thank you to Carolle, Roger and the Titsey Rotary team, Moor House School and each school bag donor.
